New EMT in Shirley


Shirley Board of Selectman meeting highlight is the appointment of a new Emergency Medical Technician. Adam Ouillette earns the board’s nod.

The rest of the less than one hour meeting was routine except an audience member vigorously questioning Board chairman Enrico Cappucci’s un-denied support for Kendra Dumont. Dumont challenges Leonardo Guercio for his seat on the board.

The election is Tuesday and the polls will open 7:00 AM EDT and close 8:00 PM EDT.

Memorial Day activities for Sunday, May 24th noted on the agenda including the Special Town Meeting on June 8th at 7 PM EDT. The Vicksburg Square Devens’ meeting begins just 15-minutes before the Annual Town Meeting.

Shirley government center, Town Offices at Keady Way are on display in a Photosynth presentation.

The three selectmen gather again Monday, May 11th, the eve of the election.

A new EMT is good! Even better is the possibility of a new Selectmen.

I saw the Q&A meeting with the candidates. It was a very poor showing on Mr. Guercio's part considering he has been on the board many years and in this voter opinion to many.

Just like our national election we need change. Mr. Guercio has led us down the road we are now on with absolutely no vision for the future.

We need new blood and new ideas. I am willing to give Kendra Dumont a chance. Mr. Guercio had his shot and look where we are.
